I really liked Practical Poetry. Gave me a chuckle, but it is very clever. Billy Collins? Be sure to skip the #$%^words. Not.

God knew the surgery was part of your life to come. He uses everything for His Glory. Though you have really suffered in post-surgery experiences these past few weeks...remember your body is experiencing an incredible shift of change..leaving behind an old life and transforming into a new flesh body that will provide you the new imporoved vehicle to wander and minister as you wish...walking thru sand on beaches..trekking thru your mountains and along streams...getting out of bed and walking daily without a cane on knees no longer bearing too much weight they were not designed to carry...being in better physical health...getting control and being disciplined over your body rather than your body controlling you...and so much more! We rejoice with you in the pounds that are falling away (it's clearly evident every time we see you)..but persevere in the tough change and challenges. Once you get out of the woods of misery and on to better days...this will all be like birth pangs that are forgotten when the joy of a baby finally arrives. Thanks for posting buddy, you are very important to me and MOST IMPORTANT to the Lord. Many more Great things in God are ahead for you in His ministry of your life to so many hurting people! COXY Out!

Scott, this is an awesome poem with more truth than many may know!! Traveling the highway, can be lonely work indeed. May God richly bless you as you work the highway and byways. May he give you strength for the journey!!!!

I'm praying you get released as you hope and that the soft foods are a welcome relief to liquids only. Hang in there buddy! Soon this will all be a fuzzy memory!

Scott, I'm very happy to see you persevering in such a difficult challenge. I'm sure the regrets on Wednesday nite about having the surgery were difficult as well as this new challenge of sipping proteins. But as we saw you and Kristie standing in the parking lot Sunday nite at church, even looking slimmer than I can remember you recently...it was a joy to see you smiling and moving forward!! It must be encouraging to be making progress even if its baby steps. Hopefully the worst is behind you though challenges are ahead. And thankfully you are surrounded by a host of friends and family who are lifting you up in prayer and encouragement. The Lord is sufficent for all your needs. He will help you through Brother! And the rest of us are here to help you too!

Certainly puts things in perspective. God always finds a way for us to slow down and reflect about how He works in our lives. Praise Him for our wives with a heart for Him.

Scotty,

I have been praying for t=you this week and just not knowing how you were doing. M brother was killed in an accident Saturday night so me and Curtis have been in NY. We are on our way back home but are now in newark, NJ. How amazing you got to come home Wednesday!!!! This week has been real tough with eating for me because of the limited selections at my mom's and sister's. I have been doing well and downing the water every chance I get. I am able to try more and more foods, but believe me I know if it was a good idea within minutes!!! I haven't weighed myself in almost a week but when I last did I was done 23 lbs. I have not taken any insulin since surgery and have actually not taken any pills except those yucky vitamins. I hope to see you Sunday at church. BTW, I also had my doubts right after surgery, but by day 3 it's been all uphill. I don't regret it now!!!!
